Slipknot Celebrates Ten Years of Musical Madness

Inspired by bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and KISS, Slipknot is proving to have the longevity of the bands they emulate.  Des Moines native, the band Slipknot is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.  On 9-9-09 the band released a special edition of their self-titled debut album on Roadrunner Records.  The commemorative CD/DVD includes rare demos, remixes, rare B-sides and much more.

Part of the band’s appeal is that all of the members look like they are part of a freak show or carnival.  In an interview that concertlivewire.com did with lead drummer Joey Jordison, he states that the masks are reflective of how they feel.  Joey also said that they won’t ever de-mask as long as the band exists.

Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor, sometimes known by his number 8, will be taking over the KUFO airwaves today at 3pm and will decide what music to play!  Don’t miss the live webcast from the KUFO Studio.

Slipknot marks their 10th Anniversary with the show tonight at the Memorial Coliseum.  Tickets are on sale now and are priced at $45.00.  Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Rose Quarter Box Office (M-F 10a-5p), all participating Safeway/ TicketsWest outlets, by calling 877.789.ROSE (7673), or at ComcastTIX.com.

  1. Very good post. I’ve found your blog via Yahoo and I’m really happy about the information you provide in your posts. Btw your blogs layout is really broken on the Kmelon browser. Would be cool if you could fix that. Anyhow keep up the great work!
