Mothers and “Daughters” in Portland have been listening to their John Mayer albums “Over and Over” in preparation for tonight’s show at the Rose Garden. Mayer’s fans will go the “Distance” and “Go Anywhere” to see him live in concert; they will even get “Covered in Rain” as they wait to enter the arena. Once they arrive in the “Great Indoors,” they will get “Comfortable” in their seats and watch opener Michael Franti. But, fans will feel like “Something’s Missing” until John hits the stage and sings some of his classic hits including “Your Body Is A Wonderland” and “Gravity.”
There will be thousands of screaming girls at tonight’s show, but I know my fair share of guys who like John Mayer too *cough…Mick and Josh…cough*. Women adore him because he is charismatic on stage and sings about all of their favorite things including love. The men appreciate John Mayer because he has mad guitar skills and he makes their girlfriends happy. In addition to gaining worldwide success as a songwriter and musician, John Mayer has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine’s in the February 2007′s “Guitar Heroes” and was the cover of their annual “Guitar” issue in May 2008. The guitarist and vocalist has sold nearly 12.5 million albums worldwide and earned seven Grammy Awards.
So instead of “Waiting on The World to Change,” head down to the Rose Quarter Box Office and get your tickets for tonight’s show. Tickets are priced at $66, $51 and $36.
